Citrus Park Town Center’s History
The mall opened as Citrus Park Town Center on March 3, 1999, developed by Urban Shopping Centers, Inc. Westfield Group acquired the property in 2002, renaming it Westfield Shoppingtown Citrus Park and later Westfield Citrus Park. Sears closed in September 2018 as part of a nationwide restructuring, and in December 2020, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield surrendered the mall to its lenders, at which point it reverted to its original Citrus Park Town Center name under new ownership by Hull Property Group. The former Sears space reopened as Elev8 Fun, a family entertainment complex, in May 2023.
Getting to Citrus Park Town Center
The mall sits in northwest Tampa, serving the growing northern Hillsborough County area. Ample surface parking with roughly 5,000 spaces surrounds the property, making it a convenient stop for shoppers from Citrus Park, Carrollwood, and the broader Tampa suburbs.
